This may be the best song in their catalog, though I have no idea what it is about. It's amazing how clean they can be on such a tape. Thanks for posting all of this show!

glad you enjoyed it - it's sort of special: playing for their hometown friends in a shared rehearsal space, with a brand-new drummer (I'm pretty sure this was his first show with TWR)

"I have no idea what it is about" I don't know about what a lot of the lyrics in this this song are about, but I do know that there was a story at one point that Elsie was a dried-out cow-carcass that the band adopted as their mascot (hence the "homemade leather dress" line). In the lyric-book TWR sold at shows around this time, Guy penned something in the margin about how their manager [ML Compton] wouldn't let them take Elsie on tour with them. :)

My god this is great to see. Their live album is one of my fav live albums of all time, and actually seeing them fascinating. Who woulda thought that underneath that mythically huge sound was just a few skinny guys. This (or maybe the Fish Song) is my favorite, but they have dozens of great great songs. What a treat.
