MRTTL1 ::: Favorites Refering to Spectrum w/Jethro Tull 07-10-18 13:37:24 __________________________________________________
MRTTL1 ::: Favorites I was at the same show and it was indeed tremendous. 07-10-18 13:35:23 __________________________________________________
eskimoposh ::: Favorites Yikes, you set yourself up for quite the assault! I guess it was mostly because you made a very inaccurate comment about syncopation and time signatures....and then proceeded to back yourself up by professing that you've been a musician for 35 years. Not a good idea, especially on a page full of fusion freaks. 07-10-16 04:07:34 __________________________________________________
chillichomper ::: Favorites Hey Chuckdrum. What planet are you from!!!???? They are playing together and SO what if you've been a musician for 35 yrs. It don't mean d*ck! They are all awesome musicians and this song was ahead of its time. Infact this whole album ROCKS! But like free Jazz and bebop most people just don't get it. Too bad for you. I love this stuff. King Crimson, UK, Yes, Gentle Giant, Dixie Dregs, ELP whatever. Its what classical musicians do when they want to kick back 07-10-15 18:49:27 __________________________________________________
bee7wax3 ::: Favorites I imagine they were more effective live in a theater or a concert hall than at a rock club. Fantastic group of musicians, but this video doesn't do them complete justice..? it's edited like crazy and sounds disjointed and out of sync? But you can see the seriousness and self respect they've got as much as anything else...which is impressive in itself. 07-10-07 01:16:26 __________________________________________________
bee7wax3 ::: Favorites Cleveland, Ohio: September 18, 1978...at the AGORA Rock club. I vaguely remember seeing Jobson play a wicked (as in excellant, good) electric violin solo. and Allan Holdsworth did not try to duplicate his solos from the album - which for me was kind've dissapointing. there is supposedly a bootleg (audio) somewhere from the Agora show; i've never seen nor heard it. BUT they were 'headlining'...on this night and i don't think there even was an 'opening act'. 07-10-07 01:10:55 __________________________________________________
chuckdrum ::: Favorites UMMMM, Duh, ok Einstein, i'm not carried away.... they are most certainly not playing in unison, that's more what i mean. They are playing in the spaces in between each other's notes!!! I am a musician for over 35 years... How about you? geez... go correct some Led Zep fans! 07-09-06 23:56:39 __________________________________________________
Fusionhead ::: Favorites chuckdrum - It's a great tune, but let's not get carried away. The whole band is playing in 7/4 except for 1:48-1:57 and 2:57-3:05 where the whole band is playing in 21/8. Also, 3:05-3:12 is in 4/4. 07-09-06 11:11:37 __________________________________________________
chuckdrum ::: Favorites Notice how every band member is playing a different time signature than each other... whoa, Bruford's syncopation is unbelievable! 07-09-04 00:21:27 __________________________________________________
mongabella ::: Favorites Bruford makes it look so easy,I hate him.lol.He is god 07-09-01 02:28:35 __________________________________________________ |
