The images remind me of the power we have to fill in blanks to complete a partially drawn picture, and the power of film to push the little buttons that create emotion. I immediately forget that I am watching a sequence of stills, and forced to recall after a viewing, that a motion picture is really a sequence of stills with the illusion of movement, and that La Jetee is visual story-telling at its most basic. __________________________________________________
