PFras ::: Favorites 2007-07-26 08:37:17 There's an interesting article on Chris Marker's still photography over the last fifty years in the latest edition of UK film magazine Vertigo. Vertigo regularly features Marker and similar filmmakers. The Vertigo website has details and free articles. __________________________________________________

jvillard ::: Favorites 2007-10-18 23:16:09 You can buy the movie on Amazon. It has been issued in a DVD bundle with another of Chris Marker's movies called "Sans Soleil" by the Criterion Collection. Both the French and English soundtrack are provided. __________________________________________________
camrant ::: Favorites 2007-10-20 18:02:13 Erie, evocative, depressing, frightening, powerful, and fascinating. The images remind me of the power we have to fill in blanks to complete a partially drawn picture, and the power of film to push the little buttons that create emotion. I immediately forget that I am watching a sequence of stills, and forced to recall after a viewing, that a motion picture is really a sequence of stills with the illusion of movement, and that La Jetee is visual story-telling at its most basic. __________________________________________________ |
