And, of course, having healthy, perhaps a martial-arts-like, attitude about it helps as well. Defensive purposes only. Don't look for trouble and always find alternatives if possible. And, above all, you're not training to fight, but training in the hopes that you never have to but can if left with no choice. However, when I'm walking the streets I NEVER feel vunerable, threatened, or even worried. Why? Depending on the circumstances, this mode of thinking can provide good answers. I can't understand why liberals and other anti-gun people can't get it through their head that banning guns does nothing to stop criminals and makes the law-abiding citizen vulnerable. Herion and crack are illegal... I just ordered a Bersa Thunder 380 for concealed carry.. can't wait to shoot it.
