Description:
now running on diesel ,rather than propane as b4,propane is still used as a pilot light during starting and will fit a quick release for this in future.fuel nozzle is 5gph but using 735psi fuel pressure rather than the intended designed 100 psi.a bit smoky at low boost running,as this is at a lot less than the designed fuel pressure for the nozzle.will need to fit a bigger nozzle to reach max rpm (52000) at approx 2 bar boost(p2)only got to 1.5~bar in testing.sorry about the poor camera work:-)dash needs to be finished etc. http://www.diygasturbines.com/main/ http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/DIYGasTurbines/ |

hihunglo ::: Favorites Your question; "but i wonder if higher speeds may be reached if you use the belt" The answer; The "MAIN SHAFT" of this motor is turning 30,000 to 100,000rpm. A belt will not survive at that speed, so the answer is 0mph. A belt after a speed reducer will work though. 07-09-03 23:50:39 _____________________________________________________

imransmom ::: Favorites you can make one with a cars turbo charger, but if itsnt built right it will explode and probably kill u 07-08-26 19:29:15 _____________________________________________________
Tsumasaki01 ::: Favorites you should design the turbine to generate torque. just a thrust based one will only get you so far. get a belt drive off the main shaft, and a CVT linkage. you may get better results. thrust based is great for planes and thats where your afterburner will def. come in handy, but i wonder if higher speeds may be reached if you use the belt. also watch out, you may find it has a lot of hp, but not as much torque, use a clutch and be easy on it if you do. looks great and good luck! 07-08-17 18:19:09 _____________________________________________________

mightyfinejonboy ::: Favorites hi,yes all noise and no go at the moment ,but as it develops 20kg of thrust at the moment it should go ok as it is.have made a afterburner for it so will increase the thrust approx 40% I hope!!need to sort the combustion at 100% power then a road test....soon 07-08-15 16:05:20 _____________________________________________________

350VICTOR ::: Favorites hey how do u fit a boost gauge? is their a way without electricity coz ive herd it runs of the vacuum pipe and would a boost gauge of a car work on it? 07-07-28 09:29:28 _____________________________________________________
